Visiting Vayots Dzor to reveal the tourism potential

On November 28 and 29th, around 35 members of the Armenian Tourism Federation visited Vayots Dzor region to get acquainted with the touristic products & services offered in the region.

The participants had a tour  in the area, got acquainted with  local eco – tourism opportunities, newly created tourism products & services as well as the Visitor Center located in Gnishik village. The meeting was summarized with a discussion on cooperation frames and developing tourism in regions by utilizing the assets of the region

The touristic products & services  offered in Vayots Dzor are as follows:

• Ecotourism (horse riding, 4×4 off-road, hiking, local eco-food)
• Wildlife watching tours (including birdwatching in certain areas marked as trails)
• Bike tours
• Educational tours in nature (nature conservation, biodiversity, wildlife topics, survival skills)
• Overnight, catering & local food delivery services.

The development of eco, agro and gastro-tourism in Vayots Dzor will primarily contribute to the conservation of biodiversity and sustainable development of communities, with all of them being  key objectives of FPWC  for many years.
