GLADZOR UNIVERSITY’S HISTORIC-CULTURAL MUSEUM
According to the history, the University of Gladzor was named to be the second Athena or the Capital of Wisdom. Gladzor was a major center of calligraphy as well, where hundreds of manuscripts were created.
The Museum is located in the historical church of Surb Hakob in Vernashen village. The exhibitions are devoted to higher education, scriptural art, the unprecedented rise of various bransches of science in Medieval Armenia. Lots of miniatures and historical facts have been transmitted and preserved at the museum during the year of its existance. There are also manuscripts, gospels and bibles exhibited. Prominent Tanahat Monastery is located near the museum.
